CB Champ Bailey and the Broncos have broken off talks about a contract extension until the offseason, according to Fox 31 Denver reporter Josina Anderson. Bailey is in the last year of his deal with the team.

"Apparently there won't be any further discussions about Champ's contract until at least after the season," said Bailey's agent, Jack Reale. "This is not our choice. This is a choice by the Broncos. We'll respect that and move on if we have to."

The way we see it

Denver historically does not like to negotiate during the season, and it may want to see how the 32-year-old Bailey plays the remainder of the year before giving him a long-term deal. Through four weeks, Bailey has eight tackles and one interception.
