Vikings DE Ray Edwards was fined a total of $10,000 for two separate incidents in the team’s Week Three win over the Lions — and he isn’t happy about it.

Edwards spoke to the media on Monday, saying he thinks he league has it out for the Vikings.

"I think they just hate the Vikings," Edwards said. "Me personally, I'm watching games and guys are getting holding calls. You watch our tape and we get held more than anybody but we don't get those calls. I guess because we're the outlaws, that's just how it goes."

Edwards plans to appeal his fine, but he said he never has had one overturned before. He has been fined on multiple occasions, including in 2008 when he was called for two unnecessary roughness penalties in a game against the Buccaneers.

"It's like you're getting grounded by your parents and you're trying to appeal to your parents why you shouldn't be grounded. You just try to win and hopefully they see something in the tape where they figure, 'Oh, we shouldn't fine this guy this time.'"

The way we see it

Edwards should plan to lose his appeal. His comments will be read by NFL officials, and though they likely won't be a factor in the appeal process, they certainly wouldn't help his cause otherwise.
