The NFL has told Vikings DE Jared Allen that his famous calf-roping celebration he performs after sacks now could earn him a penalty or fine.

Allen was informed of this prior to the Vikings’ Week Three win over the Lions, which shocked him because he has been performing the stunt for much of his seven-year career. Allen has 73 sacks in the NFL.

But Allen admitted it will be hard to get away from it easily. "I'm not just going to give it up," he told media members on Monday.

Allen’s celebration routine consists of him getting down on one knee and pretending to rope in a calf before throwing up his hands. The NFL prohibits players from going to the ground in celebration, except for cases of players engaging in prayer.
