Eagles QB Michael Vick has a rib cartilage injury and RB LeSean McCoy has a rib fracture, head coach Andy Reid told reporters on Monday.
"There are no broken bones, but he does have a rib cartilage injury. It's up high in the second and third ribs," Reid said of his QB, who was hurt at the end of the first quarter during Philadelphia's loss to the Redskins. The coach said he did not know when Vick could return to the field and that the Eagles would look into signing another quarterback.
McCoy's injury didn't take him out of the game, as he rushed for 16-64-0 and had 12-110-0 receiving. His status for next week's game vs. the 49ers is unknown.
The way we see it
Kevin Kolb will be the team's first-string QB with Vick out. He struggled for much of the Washington game, but nearly led the team to a fourth-quarter comeback with a late TD and a Hail Mary that went through the hands of WR Jason Avant. If McCoy is unable to play, Mike Bell will be the Eagles' featured running back.
