Patriots play 'respect' card

Who would have guessed the Patriots would use the respect card as motivation?

In the most recent issue of the team-owned "Patriots Football Weekly," all nine "experts" chose the Dolphins to win in tonight's Week Four game. ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss wrote that, according to players, Belichick drew their attention to the lack of faith from their own newspaper.

The Pats are 2-1 and have the highest scoring offense in the NFL. But it's their defense that gives "experts" cause for concern. The Pats gave up 30 points to the Bills in Week Three while the Dolphins held the Bills to 166 yards.

The way we see it

The Patriots are rarely in the "no one respects us" role, but Belichick's tactic may work for a reeling defense facing an up-and-coming offense on Monday night.
