The Patriots announced their inactives for Monday night's game against the Dolphins. RB Thomas Clayton, LB Shawn Crable, OT Nick Kaczur, DE Kyle Love, OL Rich Ohrnberger, WR Taylor Price, RB Fred Taylor and CB Terrence Wheatley will be inactive.

Rookie DE Brandon Deaderick and rookie ILB Dane Fletcher will be active for the first time this season.

Taylor, Wheatley, Price and Kaczur are injured. Crable was active in Week Three and recorded one tackle. Clayton was signed this week.

The Dolphins' inactives include QB Tyler Thigpen, WR Marlon Moore, ILB Channing Crowder, DE Robert Rose, OT Patrick Brown, OG John Jerry, TE Jeron Mastrud and DE Jared Odrick. DE Tony McDaniel is serving a one-game suspension.

The way we see it

The Patriots will have just three active backs: BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Sammy Morris and Danny Woodhead. The deactivation of Crable is a bit of a surprise considering he played well on third downs in Week Three. Deaderick and Fletcher could see some time on special teams.

For the Dolphins, no big surprises either, although there was a glimmer of hope that Crowder would return after practicing on Wednesday and Thursday. Chad Pennington is the backup QB tonight, and Pat McQuistan will likely start again for Jerry, but don't be surprised to see Cory Procter if McQuistan struggles again.
