Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil was fined $40,000 for his obscene gesture toward the referees during the Titans' loss to the Broncos in Week Four.

The Titans were flagged for a neutral-zone infraction in the second quarter. The penalty gave the Broncos a 1st-and-goal situation and QB Kyle Orton threw a TD pass on the next play.

Cecil flipped the bird toward the referees in disgust, and television cameras caught the gesture. NFL rules "prohibit use of abusive, threatening or insulting gestures to officials."

Last year, Titans owner Bud Adams was fined $250,000 for making the same gesture.
