The Redskins waived RB Keiland Williams on Saturday and signed WR Brandon Banks from the team's practice squad.
Heading into their Week Four game against the Eagles, the Redskins have three running backs on their active roster: Clinton Portis, Ryan Torain and Chad Simpson.
Williams, an undrafted rookie out of LSU, had six catches for 29 yards this season.
Banks is a 5-foot-7 rookie out of Kansas State. He began the season on Washington's 53-man roster but was cut before the Week Three game vs. St. Louis and then added to the team's practice squad. He's expected to be used primarily on special teams.
The way we see it
With only three running backs remaining on the Redskins' roster, these moves were a bit surprising. Washington may try to bring back Williams or add him to their practice squad if he clears waivers.
