Patriots starting RB Fred Taylor missed practice on Saturday as he nurses a toe injury. It's the fourth consecutive practice he has missed.

Taylor missed the end of the Pats' Week Three game against the Bills and hasn't practiced this week. He will likely be inactive for the Monday-night Week Four game against the Dolphins.

The way we see it

RB BenJarvus Green-Ellis actually leads the Patriots in rushing yards and carries this season, so he will just get a larger bulk of the load, with third-down backs Sammy Morris and Danny Woodhead also getting a share. The Pats signed RB Thomas Clayton this week as a fourth back. Head coach Bill Belichick will give the ball to the hot hand in the backfield and, even though Taylor is technically the starter, Taylor's injury is not a huge loss.
