Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Green Bay's Week Four battle with the division-rival Lions.

Packers running backs vs. Lions LB corps

If Green Bay's ground game can't get it going against the Lions' league-worst run defense, one would think the Packers might seriously have to consider bringing in some new blood to the backfield before the fast-approaching trade deadline. Look for Packers RBs Brandon Jackson and burly John Kuhn, the converted fullback who has actually been more effective than Jackson despite getting significantly fewer touches, to be involved in a lot more running plays against the Lions than they were against the Bears in Week Three.

Against Chicago, the Packers had only 15 rushing plays compared to 45 pass attempts, and it figures to be a much different story against a Detroit LB corps that will probably be without MLB DeAndre Levy, who is doubtful for Sunday's game with a groin injury. It would not be a shock if third-string RB Dimitri Nance and FBs Korey Hall and Kuhn also got some opportunities to carry the ball for the Packers.

With Levy likely out, the Lions' most effective linebacker is former Seahawk/49er Julian Peterson, once a highly regarded talent who appears to have gone downhill in a Lions uniform.
