Are the Rams willing to live with the RB trio of Kenneth Darby, Keith Toston and newly acquired Chauncey Washington behind Steven Jackson the rest of the season? "You can never say never, but they really have explored a lot of other options, and there just isn't a lot there (on the trade mart)," one team insider said. The confidence in Darby being able to effectively fill in for Jackson was definitely boosted after his strong second-half effort in St. Louis' first victory of the season against the Redskins (49 yards rushing, including a 12-yard TD run that was Darby's first score at the pro level). "I think you guys saw what he brought to the table (against the Redskins)," Rams QB Sam Bradford said. "I think he's very quick, he's very shifty, he's able to make guys miss. He runs extremely hard." As for Washington, word is the team believes the ex-Jet could at least make a quick impact on special teams.
