Packers LB Brandon Chillar has been officially ruled out of Green Bay’s Week Four game against Detroit, according to the team’s Friday injury report. Chillar suffered a shoulder injury in the Packers’ Monday-night loss to the Bears.

Rookie nickel CB Sam Shields was listed as doubtful with a calf injury in the report, and three other defenders — rookie DE Mike Neal (side/rib), backup S Charlie Peprah (quadriceps) and backup LB Brady Poppinga (hamstring) are listed as questionable.

The way we see it

Chillar was not playing well at all before his injury Monday night and probably won’t be missed much against the Lions. With Shields most likely out of the mix for the Lions, CBs Brandon Underwood, Pat Lee and Jarrett Bush will be counted on to pick up the slat in nickel alignments.
