Giants DE Mathias Kiwanuka will miss Sunday's game vs. the Bears due to a bulging cervical disc in his neck. He is tied for second in the NFL with four sacks on the year.
The Giants will need other players to step up and rush QB Jay Cutler, as it looks as if reserve DE Osi Umenyiora may also miss the game due to swelling in his knee. First-round draft choice Jason Pierre-Paul may see increased action on Sunday.
The way we see it
Kiwanuka's play has been a rare bright spot for the Giants, who have been horrible on defense the past two weeks. Even without two of their top pass rushers, New York still may be able to rush the QB, as the Bears will be without starting OLT Chris Williams for the second week in a row.
