The Seahawks have cut OG Chester Pitts after the veteran lineman proved he couldn't stay healthy, according to reporter Jason La Canfora.

Pitts was signed in the offseason after spending eight seasons with the Texans, where he started 114 games, but his rehab from microfracture knee surgery last season didn't go as well as hoped, limiting his mobility.

The Seahawks are hoping for the return of first-round pick OT Russell Okung on Sunday.

The team has signed OT-OG Mike Gibson, who was cut by Seattle from the 53-man roster just two days ago, to its practice squad. He could eventually be elevated to the 53-man roster to provide depth on the offensive line. To make room for Gibson on the practice squad, the Seahawks released RB Chris Henry.
