Even though he turned over control of the Dolphins to GM Jeff Ireland, Bill Parcells isn't leaving football anytime soon.

Parcells, who is a daily consultant with the Dolphins, said in a conference call with New York reporters on Thursday that he is open to doing something new. Parcells will be enshrined in the Giants' Ring of Honor on Sunday night.

"I am not a sit-around-the-fireplace guy. I don't know. I am not certain about it. We will see what happens when the time comes," he said. "I know I want to do something, even if it is not day-to-day or something like that, I know I want to do something. I don't like sitting around. I like to get up and go do something. We will figure it out when the times comes."

Parcells had been the team's executive vice president of football operations since December 2007 before handing full control to Ireland on Sept. 7.

ESPNNewYork's Ohm Youngmisuk wrote that Parcells, 69, reportedly can leave the Dolphins' organization at any time and still be paid the $12 million due on his four-year contract that runs through 2011.
