With rookie OG John Jerry still out of practice, the Dolphins signed OG Ray Feinga from their practice squad on Thursday.
Feinga spent the 2009 season on the Dolphins' practice squad and was released last July before being re-signed on August 12, 2010. He was waived again when the rosters were cut to 53 but joined the team's practice squad.
Feinga started 35 games for Brigham Young and originally signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent following the 2009 NFL draft.
With DL Tony McDaniel suspended for a game, the Dolphins have a roster exemption for Feinga to take for Week Four's Monday-night game against the Patriots.
The way we see it
OL Pat McQuistan did not play well against the Jets when replacing Jerry, and the Dolphins' interior O-line is one of their weakest units. Jerry had impressed the coaches since training camp and started the first two games before coming down with an illness before the Jets game last Sunday. As of Thursday, Jerry was still out of practice.
Feinga could challenge McQuistan and Cory Procter to fill in for Jerry if the rookie cannot play Monday night.
