The Patriots promoted OL Rich Ohrnberger from the practice squad to the 53-man roster on Wednesday, the team announced.

Originally selected by the Patriots out of Penn State in the fourth round of the 2009 draft, Ohrnberger appeared in three games and was inactive for 13, plus the postseason game against the Ravens.

He was waived by the Patriots on Sept. 4 and then signed with the practice squad on Sept. 6.

In other roster news, the Patriots signed OL Thomas Austin and OT Steve Maneri to the practice squad.

Maneri, a product of Temple, originally signed with the Texans as a rookie free agent on May 7. He was claimed off waivers from Houston on Sept. 5 and spent the first three weeks of the 2010 season on the Patriots' 53-man roster. He was waived by New England on Sept. 27.

Austin was signed as a rookie free by the Vikings on April 24. The Clemson product was released by the Vikings on Sept. 4.
