The Panthers addressed their offensive line Wednesday, signing ex-Raider Chris Morris.
Morris is an interior lineman who can serve as the Panthers' backup center behind starter Ryan Kalil. He can also fill in at guard.
Originally a seventh-round pick out of Michigan State in 2006, Morris was cut the Raiders on Sept. 4.
The way we see it
Morris will add depth to a Panthers offensive line that hasn't performed so well this season. In addition to struggling on the field, the O-line unit was struggling in the numbers department, as there were only eight linemen on the roster before this signing. One of the linemen already on the roster is the injured Jeff Otah, who is at least a week away from practicing, according to Charlotte Observer writer and PFW correspondent Darin Gantt.
