The Jaguars claimed former Bills QB Trent Edwards off waivers on Tuesday.
The Bills released their season-opening starter on Monday. The waiver order was based on team's current records through three games. No 0-3 teams put in a claim on Edwards and the Jags, who are 1-2 through three weeks, claimed him.
Jaguars QB David Garrard has thrown for just 448 yards with five INts through three games. Backup QB Luke McCown is out for the season with a torn ACL and the Jags signed QB Keith Null on Monday.
The way we see it
This is not a surprise for anyone who has watched Garrard play, especially in the last two games. The Jaguars are looking for anyone for a spark, making multiple transactions early this week. Edwards could challenge Garrard for the starting spot if he continues to struggle. Null will likely be on the practice squad and current backup Todd Bouman could be cut.
