Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis had emergency gall-bladder surgery Monday morning, his agent told the Kansas City Star. Weis began suffering Friday with an infection but wanted to delay surgery to after the Chiefs' Week Three game againts the 49ers.
"He didn't bother to do anything other than live through 48 hours of pain," his agent. Bob LaMonte, said Monday evening. "He knew he was coaching on Sunday."
Weis checked himself into a hospital on Monday morning, a day after the Chiefs advanced to 3-0 with a win over the 49ers. He is expected to be released on Tuesday.
