The Cardinals re-signed WR Onrea Jones and released CB A.J. Jefferson on Monday. They also released RB Ian Johnson from the team's practice squad.

Jones spent the preseason with the Cardinals before being released when the team made its final roster cut on Sept. 3. He originally signed with the Cardinals on Sept. 1, 2008, and was on the Cardinals' practice squad the last two seasons. Jones entered the NFL with the Texans as an undrafted free agent.

The way we see it

With WR Early Doucet still out, the Cardinals want a little more depth at the WR position and seem to like Jones, who is used to their system. Jefferson was a surprise to make the team in the first place, and the Cards found him expendable.
