All the talk this week has been about the failings of the Vikings' passing game. An instant salve arrives in the Lions' secondary, which has allowed 609 passing yards in two games. Expect QB Brett Favre and the receivers to have better production in this game, even if the Lions' defensive line makes some hay against a struggling Vikings' offensive line (at least in terms of pass protection).

The Lions have their limitations with backup QB Shaun Hill, and the Vikings' defense has held serve through two games. Expect the "D" to produce more sacks this week and contain rookie RB Jahvid Best for the most part.

Prediction: Vikings 28, Lions 17
