The Browns have placed ILB D'Qwell Jackson on injured reserve with a torn right pectoral muscle, a similar injury to the one that sidelined him for 10 games in 2009.
Jackson hurt the muscle in training camp and had been held out of practice since early August. This was the first week he'd returned to practice, but he still wasn't comfortable playing with the injury.
Cleveland signed WR Sam Aiken to take Jackson's roster spot.
The way we see it
This is a big blow to the Browns, who could use as much talent on their defense as possible. Jackson started 42 games from 2006-2008, his first three seasons in the league, but has only played in six since then due to injuries.
