At the end of training camp, the Dolphins chose to release 2009 third-round draft pick Patrick Turner, a WR who never showed any pro potential. Turner was signed to the practice squad of the division-rival Jets and on Thursday, was elevated to New York's 53-man roster. To create a roster spot for Turner, the Jets waived OLT Patrick Brown. On Saturday, the Dolphins signed Brown.

On Sunday night, the Jets and Dolphins square off for first place in the AFC East.

Reserve OT Jermey Parnell was waived by Miami.

The way we see it

Brown was undrafted following the 2009 draft, spent time on the rosters of the Bengals, Patriots and Vikings before he was signed by the Jets on Sept. 5. He was inactive the first two weeks of the season for New York.
