The Dolphins followed the Patriots' lead on Friday, signing a former Jet just 48 hours before they take on their AFC East rival.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday the Dolphins claimed former Jets OT Patrick Brown off waivers. The Jets cut Brown earlier this week to make room for, coincidentally, former Dolphins WR Patrick Turner.
Last week, the Patriots signed former Jets RB-WR Danny Woodhead 23 hours before their game. Woodhead was inactive but expects to play a role this week.
Brown is a second-year player out of Central Florida.
The way we see it
The Dolphins' O-line depth is thin, and while they boast likely the best tackle combination in the league (Jake Long and Vernon Carey), the interior is another story. Rookie OG John Jerry is doubtful for Sunday with an illness and backup Pat McQuistan is likely to start in his place. This is likely a move to shore up the O-line, but the former Jet might also have some useful information to help the 'Fins before Sunday.
