It has been well documented how Patriots starting RCB Darius Butler had a rough game in Week Two, allowing a TD, two-point conversion and being called for two pass-interference penalties on a Jets TD drive.

On Friday,'s Mike Reiss wrote that a change could be coming at right cornerback. Second-year CB Kyle Arrington replaced Butler in the final series and Reiss said Arrington would be a top candidate to replace Butler, another second-year player.

"If you go out there and play without confidence, especially at cornerback, you won't last," Butler said Friday.

The way we see it

Butler is in the hot seat after his poor performance against the Jets. With the Bills' league-worst passing game coming to Foxborough Sunday, it's kind of a lose-lose for Butler. If he plays well, it still will be hard to gauge if he deserves to be the Patriots' top corner with Leigh Bodden out for the season. But if Butler struggles against the Bills, head coach Bill Belichick may have to make a change. DB Terrence Wheatley should be back soon from a foot injury and he may be another option.
