Patriots RB Fred Taylor and WR Julian Edelman were limited in the Patriots' practice on Thursday. Taylor has dealt with the toe injury since the season opener, periodically being limited in practice. The clear starting RB for the Patriots after they traded Laurence Maroney, Taylor ran for just 11 yards on five carries in Week Two. He did have a 38-yard run wiped out because of a penalty.
Edelman missed the final three games of the preseason and the season opener with a foot injury. In his first action back on the field in Week Two, he had one catch for six yards and two punt returns for 26 yards.
Rookie WR Taylor Price, who has been inactive for the first two games, was limited with an ankle injury.
The way we see it
With RB Kevin Faulk out for the season with a torn ACL, the Patriots' backfield needs Taylor at 100 percent. He looked good in the season opener rushing for 71 yards on 14 carries. Having Edelman back is just another weapon for the Pats, especially with his versatility (he was a college QB).
