There's no denying that the Rams are in a world of hurt at the tight end position. With TEs Daniel Fells and Billy Bajema both suffering knee injuries in the Week Two loss at Oakland and promising rookie Michael Hoomanawanui out for another 4-6 weeks with a high ankle sprain suffered in the season opener, the Rams had only two healthy tight ends — newly re-signed Darcy Johnson and sixth-round rookie Fendi Onobun — entering their Week Three meeting with the Redskins. Word is the Rams love the 6-6, 250-pound Onobun's potential. "He runs real good and can get downfield, and he made some nice catches in the preseason," one daily team observer said. "And unlike a lot of former basketball players, he has shown in special teams that he is not afraid at all of contact. But he played only one year of college football, and blocking (at the pro level) is like a whole new world for him."
