The Buccaneers were not able to sell out their home game for already the second time in 2010 and Sunday's game against the Steelers will be blacked out on local television.

The Bucs' season and home opener in Week One against the Browns was also blacked out. Pewter Report reported the story, saying there is a chance the Bucs could avoid a blackout against the Saints in their next home game. Based on their remaining home schedule (Rams, Panthers, Falcons, Lions and Seahawks), if they don't sell out the Saints game, the Bucs are likely to have every home game blacked out in 2010.

These are the first blackouts the team has had since 1997.

The way we see it

The Bucs are in serious jeopardy of having all their home games blacked out on local TV-and they are 2-0 right now. Aside from the Saints, the Steelers are the highest-profile opponent they host, so if they cannot sell out Raymond James Stadium while undefeated, the Bucs front office needs to figure something out to get fans in the seats. There's also the question of why the organization decided not to buy the unsold seats to ensure a local broadcast.
