LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Bears DEs Mark Anderson and Israel Idonije are splitting time opposite Julius Peppers, and while Peppers has drawn double-teams frequently in the early going, Idonije and Anderson have yet to capitalize on one-on-one matchups with a sack.
"We're getting pressures and forcing the offense to get rid of the ball, stuff like that, but it's time to go to the next level," Idonije told PFW on Thursday. "We've got to get a little more production out of everybody."
Anderson is listed as the first-string left end, but he and Idonije each have one start through two games.
"The coaches, they dictate what the situation is and this is what we're doing right now," Idonije said. "We're splitting time. When Mark's on the field, I want him to have all the success in the world because it makes us better and it helps us to win. I'm the biggest Mark Anderson fan and I want him to be successful. When I get on the field, he wants the same for me."
