Jets CB Darrelle Revis' hamstring injury is bad enough that head coach Rex Ryan said Revis will not play Sunday night in a big matchup with the Dolphins.
Revis was slowed last week by the hamstring and clearly was not 100 percent in the win over the Patriots, getting burned by WR Randy Moss, who made a one-handed catch for a touchdown. He left the game before halftime and did not return.
Revis will remain in the New York area and will not accompany the team to Miami. Antonio Cromartie and rookie Kyle Wilson are expected to start.
The way we see it
As big as this game is, there's no reason to push it. Hamstring injuries have a way of lingering for weeks, so it appears to be a smart move by Ryan to sit Revis, who hinted Monday he might be able to play this weekend. Cromartie played well in Revis' place against Moss on Sunday and should see a lot of Dolphins No. 1 WR Brandon Marshall.
