The Chargers have until 4 p.m. EDT to make a deal involving WR Vincent Jackson that will keep his reduced suspension in place.

The Vikings remain in the discussion, and even though talks have chilled, sources tell PFW, the door on a trade is not completely shut.

Sources believe that the Vikings have offered up a second-round pick in next year's draft plus a conditional pick, an offer which the Chargers have declined. They are using the template of the Brandon Marshall trade from Denver to Miami this offseason, which netted the Chargers a pair of second-rounders. The Chargers, we hear, view Jackson and Marshall as comparable talents. The conditional pick discussed would be dependent on Jackson signing a long-term deal with the Vikings.

But like any negotiation, things can turn on a dime in the next few hours. The source PFW spoke with would not say a deal is dead but did warn that nothing was "imminent."

An interesting side note: A third team remains in the mix, believed to be the Rams, who could swoop in and change the landscape of this situation.
