Sidney Rice is eligible to come off the physically-unable-to-perform list prior to Week Eight, and that’s when the injured receiver thinks he will be able to play.
At least that’s his hope. Rice told the media on Monday that he is eyeing the Vikings’ Oct. 31 game at New England as when he’d like to return.
Rice was placed on the PUP list after having offseason hip surgery. He walked on Monday without the aid of crutches for the first time, but with the aid of a pool in water-therapy exercises.
“Hopefully everything will go well,” Rice told the Pioneer Press. “It’s feeling great right now. At this point I’m going to continue to do what they tell me to do and hopefully be out there as soon as possible.”
The Vikings’ wide receivers have struggled to date, and Percy Harvin also is dealing with a sore hip, though his injury is far less serious than that of Rice.
