Browns C Alex Mack accused Chiefs DT Shaun Smith Monday of grabbing Mack's genitals late in the first half of Cleveland's 16-14 loss to Kansas City on Sunday, according to multiple media outlets.
According to The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer, the alleged incident occurred on Josh Cribbs' one-yard run right after the two-minute warning.
"I don't think he should be able to do that," Mack said, according to The Plain Dealer and The Associated Press. "I'm still fired up about it."
Asked about Mack's version of events Monday, Smith told The Associated Press: "I don't have no comment. I don't recall doing anything like that. I'm not known for being a dirty player or anything like that, so I don't know what that was all about."
On Cleveland's next offensive series near the end of the first half, Mack drew an unnecessary roughness penalty on a late block on Chiefs LB Derrick Johnson that knocked the Browns back from the Chiefs' 22-yard line to the 37 with 34 seconds left. According to The Plain Dealer, Mack would not say the alleged Smith incident caused him to commit the penalty. Browns PK Phil Dawson missed a 42-yard field goal with 19 seconds left in the first half after a 12-yard Seneca Wallace-to-Brian Robiskie completion set Cleveland up at the Kansas City 25 on the play following the penalty.
