The following quotes were made after the Vikings' Week Two loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Vikings RB Adrian Peterson on getting stopped on 4th-and-goal late in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins: "It's tough when you're knocking at the door and you are in a do-or-die situation. One thing I can say is each guy out there is playing hard. Unfortunately, it just didn't fall our way."
Vikings ORG Anthony Herrera on how the team rebounds from an 0-2 start: "It's simple, it's football. We're professionals, and we get paid to do this. We're going to come back next week and, everybody to a man, we're going to go in, look at the film tomorrow, see what everybody did wrong, correct it, and go out there and practice on Wednesday. We're going to correct it."
Head coach Brad Childress on whether panic has set in with the team: "I don't think any of these guys are panicked, but I do feel like the urgency will definitely pick up. It's not a thing where I thought we played with a lack of urgency. We just put ourselves behind the eight ball when you go down 14 to nothing in the game and then you're grinding your way back. I thought we played about the kind of football that we wanted to play. You don't take care of the football, that's always the story."
TE Visanthe Shiancoe on what was most telling in the loss to the Dolphins: "It just showed we need to get on the same page when it comes to protection, when it comes to quarterback-wide receiver (relationship). The wide receiver needs to know what the quarterback is doing. The quarterback needs to know what the wide receiver is doing; (along with the) tight ends and protection. It's a whole team effort."
DE Jared Allen on whether he and the team are frustrated: "You try not to get frustrated. Frustration comes from seeing your teammates out there. You see your friends, your teammates, and you know they want to be successful and it's not like they are out there doing it on purpose. Hell, we would win every game if we could, but hats off to (the Dolphins) for taking advantage of the opportunities. We had opportunities to take advantage of and we didn't do it. We need to get in to a mindset where we can blow people out, (but) it's OK."
Childress on Lions RB Jahvid Best, whom the Lions dealt up to get with the Vikings' draft pick, and whether the team passed on him because he's similar to Percy Harvin: "Really, two explosive athletes, Percy and him. Two different positions, running back and wide receiver. There is no question about (Best's) ability. He's got 'A' ability. We just had, in this day and age, concerns about his concussions and the fact that with a smaller-in-stature running back how he could play through that."
