Kevin Kolb will be back under center for the Eagles next Sunday as head coach Andy Reid told reporters that he is going with his opening day QB in Week Three in Jacksonville.
Kolb, who played in the first half of the team's season opener vs. the Packers before suffering a concussion, missed Philly's Week Two win vs. the Lions. Backup Michael Vick came in and played very well in both games, leading some to wonder if Reid would ride the hot hand and leave Kolb on the bench.
The way we see it
After trading Donovan McNabb to the Redskins in the offseason to give Kolb the starting job, Reid has really no choice but to put him back as No. 1 on the depth chart. Vick has filled in admirably, but the Eagles want to quiet any QB controversy talk and to get Kolb comfortable before the really tough part of their schedule kicks in. There will be enough chatter around Philadelphia in Week Four when McNabb returns to Lincoln Financial Field with his new team.
