Bills head coach Chan Gailey announced Monday that Ryan Fitzpatrick will start at QB for the Bills in their Week Three game against the Patriots.
The Bills are 0-2 and have the league's worst passing offense through two games with Trent Edwards at the helm. Fitzpatrick started eight games for Buffalo in 2009, going 4-4.
The way we see it
Fitzpatrick has starting experience, with 23 games started from 2005-09. He is a capable fill-in, but lacks arm strength to really make big plays down the field. With the Patriots and the Jets on the schedule the next two weeks, it wouldn't be surprising to see Edwards or third-stringer Brian Brohm back under center at some point soon. And Fitzpatrick will not have an easy task as he returns to the starting job: The Bills have lost 13 straight to the Patriots.
