Titans head coach Jeff Fisher did not back off his statement from after the game Sunday on a day when QBs are being shuffled all over the league. Fisher maintains that Vince Young will start Week Three against the Giants and for the rest of the season.

Fisher benched Young for the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to the Steelers. Young had two interceptions and a fumble. Backup QB Kerry Collins came in and threw a late TD pass. After recovering an onside kick, Collins got the Titans back in the game in the closing seconds before ultimately falling short.

The way we see it

On the one hand, it's a sign of confidence in Young, who's 9-3 in his last 12 starts dating back to last year. On the other hand, he was benched against an elite defense, and that is not a good sign. Fisher isn't going to waffle on his QBs, so we doubt Young is benched unless he plays terribly later on. Going to Collins is not a cure-all — he's the better deep passer but is not all that accurate and no threat to run. Young has generally played well since reentering the lineup last year.
