One week after being targeted a team-high 10 times, Bears WR Devin Aromashodu, whom many considered to be on his way to becoming Jay Cutler's go-to guy, barely played in Week Two.
Observers were puzzled by Aromashodu's disappering act, and there is speculation that he may be in the doghouse after dropping multiple passes in Week One vs. Detroit.
"I don't know what it was related to, honestly," Aromashodu told the Chicago Tribune when asked about why he didn't get much playing time. "(The coaches) didn't talk to me about that. Just keep practicing. I know my chance will come again."
The Bears gave WR Earl Bennett a look for the first time this season, and he made five catches for 29 yards.
The way we see it
Jay Cutler had a big day (277 yards, three TDs, no interceptions) and the Bears won without Aromashodu's services. He will have to regain the coaching staff's trust before he gets another opportunity, and that could take a while.
