The Raiders began the second half of their game against the Rams with backup QB Bruce Gradkowski under center. Starter Jason Campbell went 8-for-15 passing for 87 yards in the first half. The Raiders trailed 7-3 at halftime.

Gradkowski started four games for the Raiders in 2009. Campell threw for just 180 yards in Week One against the Titans.

The way we see it

The Raiders were completely in support of Campbell since acquiring the veteran over draft weekend, never giving Gradkowski a chance to challenge for the starting spot. For Campbell to be pulled when the team is only trailing by four says a lot. Cable does not want to start 0-2 by losing at home to the Rams, and he feels Gradkowski is the best way to avoid a loss.
