The Panthers downgraded rookie WR Brandon LaFell from probable to questionable for their Week Two game against the Buccaneers because of a sore hamstring.

LaFell missed practice on Wednesday but participated in workouts the next two days. The Panthers' third-round pick started in Week One and had two catches for 22 yards in his NFL debut.

The Panthers downgraded LaFell after their final walkthrough on Saturday.

WR Dwayne Jarrett would likely start if LaFell can't play.

The way we see it

LaFell shot up the depth chart in the preseason to start opposite WR Steve Smith. The Panthers struggled in the passing game in Week One (only 182 yards) and QB Matt Moore, who battled a concussion all week but will start, threw three interceptions. In the 2010 Pro Football Weekly Draft Preview, Nolan Nawrocki wrote that LaFell "has the size and run strength to create matchup problems working as a flanker if he can overcome a case of the drops." Jarrett, a four-year veteran out of USC, had two catches for 40 yards in Week One.
