Browns NT Shaun Rogers missed practice Wednesday with ankle and hip injuries.
Rogers, 31, notched one tackle in the season-opening loss at Tampa Bay. Ahtyba Rubin started in his place. Rogers reportedly had offseason ankle surgery and missed all of training camp and the preseason.
“I think we’ll see him here the latter part of the week," Browns head coach Eric Mangini said of Rogers.
Also missing practice was LB D'Qwell Jackson (chest). He missed the opener against the Buccaneers. However, he could return to practice Friday, Mangini indicated.
The Browns (0-1) host the Chiefs (1-0) on Sunday.
The way we see it
Rogers and Jackson have been two of the Browns' best defensive players the past two seasons, and if they can get healthy — and return to their past form — it would help an improving, but still vulnerable, defense.
