The Chiefs announced Tuesday that Denny Thum has stepped down as president, effective immediately, after 36 years with the club.

Chairman Clark Hunt has become the CEO of the club, effective immediately. As chairman and CEO, the Chiefs said Hunt will continue to lead the football and business operations of the team.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for the best franchise in the NFL," Thum said. "I appreciate every opportunity the Hunt family has afforded me and my family and I wish the Kansas City Chiefs all the success they deserve in the future."
