The Colts announced Tuesday that WR Anthony Gonzalez will miss Week Two's game against the Giants with a high ankle sprain and SS Bob Sanders will meet with Dr. James Andrews to get a second opinion on his torn biceps tendon.

Gonzalez left the season opener after suffering the injury. He started just one game in 2009 before suffering a season-ending knee injury. It's been reported that Gonzalez has been frustrated with his reserve role in the offense with WR Austin Collie getting more reps after WR Pierre Garcon was injured.

Earlier on Tuesday, ESPN.com reported Sanders tore his biceps tendon and he could miss the entire 2010 season. Sanders has played in only eight games over the last two seasons since signing a contract extension in late 2007.

The way we see it

While Gonzalez's role in the offense has diminished, he is still a weapon for QB Peyton Manning. Luckily, Manning has other weapons available for Sunday night's "Manning Bowl." The Colts, and Sanders, are hoping that the former Defensive Player of the Year does not have to miss the 2010 season, so a second opinion from Andrews is crucial for a guy who has constantly been hurt over his career.
