The Jets and their fans are excited to kick off their 2010 season Monday night at the New Meadowlands Stadium vs. Baltimore, but they'll need to wait at least an extra 30 minutes.

The "Monday Night Football" contest, originally scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. ET, has been pushed back at least a half-hour due to lightning strikes in the New Jersey-area. Stadium officials were forced to clear the field an hour before the projected kickoff, as players for both the Jets and Ravens were told to stop stretching and warming up so they could return to their locker rooms.

The way we see it

Both the Jets and Ravens want to run the ball to set up deep passes and play excellent defense, so the wet conditions don't really favor either team.
