The Eagles licked their wounds on Monday, as the team made a series of roster moves after losing multiple players (and the game) in Week One vs. the Packers.
FB Leonard Weaver and C Jamaal Jackson were placed on injured reserve after going down in the season opener. Weaver tore ligaments in his left knee, and Jackson suffered a torn triceps.
In their places, the Eagles have signed FB Owen Schmitt and TE Garrett Mills. Schmitt played with the Seahawks in 2008 and '09, starting 15 games each season. He is not the runner and receiver Weaver is, but he's a serviceable blocker. Mills last played for the Vikings in 2008, catching five passes in eight games.
The way we see it
The pressure is now on the rest of the Eagles' offensive linemen to protect whoever is playing QB for Philadelphia. Jackson was injured at the end of last season and missed much of summer workouts, so reserve Mike McGlynn should be somewhat comfortable at center.
