Team sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter Sunday that Broncos rookie QB Tim Tebow will be the No. 2 QB when the Broncos open their season against the Jaguars.
The Broncos have a package of plays that they have installed for Tebow to use. Tebow, the 25th overall pick in April's draft, will be playing in his home state of Florida to begin his NFL career. He grew up 20 minutes from the Jaguars' stadium.
Tebow was 25-of-39 passing for 344 yards and two touchdowns and two interceptions in the preseason. Kyle Orton will start, and Brady Quinn will serve as the third-string QB.
The way we see it
Broncos fans will certainly be excited to see their team's most highly publicized rookie get some action in the season opener. With starting RB Knowshon Moreno likely not at 100 percent and their other first-round rookie, WR Demaryius Thomas, also not healthy, Tebow can be a huge asset as a wrinkle in the Broncos' offense.
