Eagles FB Leonard Weaver was helped off the field by trainers and teammates, with his left leg not touching the ground, after suffering a knee injury in the second quarter against the Packers Sunday.

Weaver's knee went backward after being hit by a Green Bay defender and FOX sideline reporter Pam Oliver reported that the initial diagnosis of the injury was that it was a knee sprain. Weaver spent several minutes on a training table on the Eagles' sideline before being carted to the locker room and was not expected to return.

Oliver also reported that at least one Philadelphia player appeared to be nauseous after seeing the replay of Weaver's injury on the Lincoln Financial Field video board.

The way we see it

Weaver was an asset as a blocker, runner and receiver a year ago — when he was selected to the Pro Bowl — and will be missed on the Eagles' offense. His absence puts a greater burden on the team's offensive line to protect QB Kevin Kolb.
