Although the preseason featured its share of rough moments on offense for the Eagles, they are going forward with extreme confidence in QB Kevin Kolb. Nothing they have seen, sources tell PFW, has indicated in the slightest that Kolb is not up to the challenge of succeeding Donovan McNabb and leading the team to success. The first challenge, against the Packers, is a big one, and the Eagles will face a daunting schedule this season. But there is strong support for Kolb in the form of great, young skill-position players and coaches who believe in him. If there's an issue to be wary of, it's the offensive line, which barely has had time to come together in the form of practice reps entering the season. But Kolb and the offensive coaches have put a premium on pass protection recently and are bent on not getting their quarterback, well, bent. The coaches are also confident that whatever troubles arise early in the season will be excellent on-the-job learning experiences; they say Kolb has shown a very good ability to fix problems as they come up.
