Ten months after tearing his ACL against the Bills, Texans TE Owen Daniels will return to the gridiron in Sunday's season opener against the Colts. Head coach Gary Kubiak announced after practice Friday that his fifth-year veteran will start on Sunday.

Daniels returned to practice at the end of August, and Kubiak waited until Friday to announce if Daniels would start. Daniels was on pace for a career year with 40 catches, 519 yards and five TDs before the injury in Week Eight last season.

The way we see it

Daniels is a great fit in the high-octane Texans offense. He missed both games against the Colts in 2009, and Kubiak will still try to limit him to 25 snaps, but he will be a big help as the Texans attempt to upset Indy. With the bootlegs they like to run with QB Matt Schaub, Daniels is a perfect target.
